College textbook tip
July 26, 2007CollegeConfidential is an incredible site where students and parents of college and college-bound share all kinds of inside information. Here is a sample tip from an FSU parent who goes by the handle, cybermom:
You can save a lot of money by looking up the books at either http://www.billsbookstore.com/ or http://www.efollett.com (lookup FSU) and then checking the Internet for cheaper prices on used books. Be careful to get the correct edition since they don’t tell you the ISBN number online. The Internet websites to use are http://www.cheapesttextbooks.com/ or http://www.isbn.nu/ which both check various sites on the web for the lowest price available.
This tip would apply to any college, if you start with efollett.com and type in your school name. Fall textbooks should be available in late July if you have your child’s schedule.

How the pink team got its color
July 20, 2007from floridatoday.com Community News :
The teacher in charge of the team, both then and now, Rockledge High School math teacher, Marian Passmore said, “Upset that the boys didn’t show up for the meeting, the girls unanimously chose neon pink as our team color. Needless to say, when the boys found out, they said they weren’t going to wear pink. I stood by the results of the team meeting and pink became our team color. Today, ‘Real Men Wear Pink’ is one of our slogans.”
The Pink Team is in Indianapolis today and tomorrow competing in an off-season event, the Indiana Robotics Invitational. Good luck Team 233!
