CBHS falls from Newsweek 100

After several years on the Newsweek list of top 100 high schools, CBHS has dropped to number…101.
The list is based solely on the ratio of number of AP, IB and Cambridge tests taken per number of graduating seniors. CBHS is still the highest ranking school in the district.

Kyla Horn named Presidential Scholar

Earlier this month, U.S. secretary of Education Margaret Spellings announced 139 outstanding high school seniors as the 2008 Presidential Scholars.

This year, one of these students is Cocoa Beach Jr./Sr. High’s Kyla Horn.

Presidential scholars are students who have shown outstanding academic achievement, artistic excellence, leadership, citizenship and service to their schools and communities.

Congratulations, Kyla, on yet another very impressive accomplishment!
