July 24, 2008State law says school districts can begin suspension proceedings on a student when a prosecutor officially files a felony charge. At that point, according to state law, a district must prove in an administrative hearing that the nature of the charge could mean a disruption to the “educational program, discipline, or welfare in the school.”
